Drop in Water Temps to Blame for Fish Kill?

Roughly 2 million fish have turned up dead in the middle part of the Bay, and state of Maryland scientists are investigating. Their working theory is that the fish died due to cold water stress. Looking at data from the Annapolis CBIBS buoy, while the minimum water temperature in December 2009 was 39.5, 2010 served up some colder temps. The minimum water temperature in December 2010 was 33.7—nearly 6 degrees colder.
